How is car sharing different from car rental?

Car sharing is membership-based, which streamlines use. Members have convenient, direct access to vehicles without repeating paperwork or paying extra fees. Vehicles can be reserved online or by phone at any time. It's like hourly and daily car rental, but there is no need to visit an office to sign a contract or pick up keys when you need to use a vehicle. Car sharing is an alternative to car rental.

How far and how long can I drive a TIMECAR vehicle?

TIMECAR is located in Oklahoma and Texas, but there are no limits to how far you can drive. All usage must be round-trip, and vehicles must stay within the continental U.S and Canada. If the vehicle is available, you may reserve it for as long as you need it, paying by the hour or by the day.

Why is car sharing good for the planet?

A 2004 study by the Transportation Research Board showed that for each car sharing vehicle, up to 15 privately owned vehicles are taken off the road. This reduces the resources needed to have more vehicles on the roads. Car share members tend to walk, bike and take the bus more often.
